Neuroscience is still in its infancy. Every year, we uncover more about the intricate ways our three brains—the head, heart, and gut—communicate and shape our experiences. The Three Brain Cookbook is not an exhaustive scientific treatise, nor does it claim to be. It is a reflection of what we know now, translated into a deeply human, nourishing practice.
This book is about honoring the intelligence of our three brains and exploring how what we eat, how we move, and how we connect can help us reach our full potential. While rooted in evidence, it is not meant to be definitive but rather an invitation—to engage with these ideas, experiment, and find what works for you.
Most importantly, The Three Brain Cookbook is intended to be life-affirming, not restrictive. It is not about rules, deprivation, or perfection but about nourishment in the truest sense—fueling not just our bodies but our joy, creativity, and sense of connection. Food is meant to be enjoyed, shared, and celebrated.
At its core, this cookbook is about what we all share. We all move through the world guided by an extraordinary inborn navigation system—taking in information with our minds, feeling deeply with our hearts, and responding instinctively with our guts. It is a system to be respected, revered, and nourished. By supporting these three brains, we cultivate the ability to think clearly, feel deeply, and trust our instincts—allowing us to show up more fully for ourselves and those around us.
And then, of course, there is food—the most fundamental, universal connection we share. Food is our inheritance, a source of nourishment not just for the body but for memory, tradition, and belonging. Many of our most cherished moments are intertwined with the aromas and flavors of the meals we grew up with, the conversations shared in kitchens, and the simple act of breaking
bread together.
This book is an invitation to return to that connection—mindfully, joyfully, and with deep appreciation for the intelligence within us.
